AIRED IN THE SUMMERS OF 2008, Coke studio breathed a new soul in the music industry, exposing it to the warmth of the transfusion of traditional eastern, Modern western and regionally inspired music with a series of live studio recording. Various musical instruments in the hands of great musicians, from all around Pakistan, gave a sensational start to the ground-breaking musical show, ever aired on TV in Pakistan. Prominent artist like Asad Ahmed, Omran ‘Momo’ Shafique, Sikandar Mufti, Kamran Zafar, Saba Shabbir Ahmad & others form the part of House band in the studio.

With judge being the audience, Coke studio received a great appreciation from music fans & engulfed the million hearts of youth all around Pakistan.

Rohail Hayat (The producer) took coke studio to another level in the subsequent season i.e. in 2009 enabling the great solo singer to discover their latent potentials which enabled them shine within a performance. Keeping in view the heterogeneous culture of Pakistan & racial diversities Coke-Studio came with musicians producing different genres of composition. The juxtaposition of rhythm with tempo unveils the out of sight message in the music i.e. “The message of unity”

Coke studio has been screening Sufi musicians like Saeen Zahoor, Abida Parveen, Classical stars like Javed Bashir with the top Bands of Pakistan which includes Strings, Noori , Entity Paradigm. Prominent singers like Arif Lohar have also been the part of Coke studio.

The upcoming fifth season of Coke Studio will feature Atif Aslam, Hadiqa Kiyani, Meesha Shafi as well as traditional artists such as Chakwalis, Humayun Khan among others. Wishing Rohail & his team all the best for this great contribution in the music Industry. I hope you would enjoy the upcoming episodes of the show.
